Gladiator, the epic movie Oliver Reed was shooting when he died, has completed principal photography. The film, directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise), follows the fortunes of Maximus (Russell Crowe), a Roman general who is relegated all the way to the arenas of Rome. Reed plays his trainer; an ex-gladiator called Proximo, who helps Maximus learn the trade so he can avenge his dishonour. The film is slated for release next year, but the fate of Reed's role is not yet known. As he unfinished scenes, there's speculation that the late, great actor may be created digitally for some scenarios. View location shots of the film before its Y2K release.
