Give ‘Em Hell

Let's just start by saying that any trailer (and we mean any) that begins with a voiceover saying "an ancient evil has returned, greater than any the world has ever known," should be bludgeoned with a stout metal object. That said - and there really is no excuse for it - the new trailer for Hellboy is actually pretty good. The effects are looking polished, Ron Perlman is coolly menacing in a way that few actors could pull off while wearing lobster-hued bodypaint and prosthetic horn-stubs, and the sets look utterly marvellous. Sure, John Hurt's camper than a cub scout away day but we reckon Mike Mignola will be proud of his comic's screen incarnation. To see the big, bad demon in action, check out the trailer here.
