Although the film is known as Zootopia in the States, Disney’s early 2016 release will be called Zootropolis in the UK. But we’ll still get the original voice cast, which already includes Jason Bateman and will now also feature Ginnifer Goodwin{ =nofollow}.

She’s been part of the extended Disney family for a while, playing a version of Snow White on US TV’s Once Upon A Time, which crafts drama out of the fairy tales that Disney has used to fuel many of its movies. In Zootropolis, she’ll be rabbit Lt. Judy Hopps, a by-the-book traffic warden who longs to be a proper cop. When a mystery is uncovered, she’s therefore determined to solve it, even it if means striking up an unlikely partnership with a smooth talking scam artist of a fox, Nick Wilde (Bateman).

The movie features a team-up between Tangled director Byron Howard and Wreck-It Ralph’s Rich Moore for a story set in a modern animal city that boasts neighbourhoods such as swanky Sahara Square and frosty Tundratown. It will arrive on US screens on March 4 before making it over here on March 25. As for the second of the Disney ‘toons planned for 2016, the Dwayne Johnson-voice Moana will not arrive in the UK until February 10, 2017.
