It's a fair bet that few people (read: no one) walked out of the first **G.I. Joe **outing thinking, 'hhhm… that was a great screenplay!' But while the sequel is still developing, we're hopeful it might actually boast some better dialogue. Why? Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired to script it.

The pair, who've been busy cranking out ideas for a Zombieland follow-up already have one geek-bait project on their plates, since they're also signed to write Deadpool.

But now they'll be getting the chance to make Duke, Snake Eyes and the rest sound A) funnier and B) less stupid. At least, that's the thinking. Given that the movie will be a tentpole action blockbuster and follow-up to a $300 million hit for Paramount, we're sure that other writers will also have their mucky paws on the script.

Still, if something from the men who brought so much fun to Zombieland can survive the trip through development, we have hope. It's not much, but it's something.
