While his personal life and behaviour have once more been under scrutiny since his arrest late last year, Roman Polanski has still found time to finish his latest film, The Ghost Writer. And the first full trailer for it is now online.
Ghost Writer stars Ewan McGregor as a scribe hired to pen the memoirs of former Prime Minister Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan). But as they delve into the man's life and career, they uncover secrets that really should have stayed buried. Secrets…. that COULD DESTROY THEM BOTH! Cue the dramatic music.
If that description sounds a little bland, unoriginal and TV movie-style to you, then welcome to our reaction to this trailer. We're not sure if it's because the teaser footage itself is thrown together in an uninspired manner or if it's a worrying sign that the movie it's trying to represent just doesn't strike out into any new territory.
The cast - which also includes Olivia Williams, Kim Catrall and Tom Wilkinson, is certainly solid, so perhaps the film itself will end up more impressive.
