Spooky college love

Proof that death should be no barrier to love has always been a cinematic staple. If Patrick Swayze can romance Demi Moore from beyond the grave, then surely an obsessed college fraternity student can chase the girl of his dreams – even if he unfortunately happens to die while pledging.

That’s the concept of The Worthy: A Ghost’s Story, an upcoming book penned by Will Clarke. Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, who have just sold a comedy pitch to Paramount’s new Vantage division (American Storage, read our coverage of that here), will adapt the tome.

"These two writers have an unusual ability to mix very edgy, inventive humour with elements of classic storytelling," producer Doug Wick gassed to The Hollywood Reporter, adding, "Like The Craft was a fresh way to talk about high school life, this is a very fresh and inventive way to explore college life."
