Want to know what Chris Evans looks like as Captain America: The First Avenger, when not viewed through the foggy prism of a faraway pap's lens? Well, wonder no longer, for those lovely bods at Entertainment Weekly have just unveiled Cap on their brand spanking new cover. Click the link above to have a gander's.
And... we like. The costume is pretty much the same one that has been touted in concept art, with brown leather straps grounding the red, white and blue star-spangled suit in some sort of murky reality, while his legendary shield is also ever-present and comes with some intriguing scratches and scars. Is it not quite as indestructible as we first thought?
The EW cover shot features Evans - sporting a sandy-blond/brown hairdo as Steve Rogers, the scrawny pipsqueak who is transformed into Cap via a handy dosage of the Super Soldier Serum - giving it his best lantern jawed heroic pose, so Paramount and Marvel are holding back on the full reveal of the character, including his helmet, for now. Unless that's inside EW, in which case, just ignore us.
So, what do you think? Does this Cap press all the right buttons? Has Joe Johnston just about drained the character of that cheesy, brightly-coloured patriotic sheen that might seem great in a comic book, but could be embarrassing on the big screen? Or do you side with The Red Skull on this one, and think Cap should be squashed like a bug? As ever, place your comments below...
