Given the combo of Joe Carnahan, Frank Grillo and Gerard Butler, you wouldn't expect a quiet story about a young boy discovering the joy of model train sets as a bonding experience with his father. Nope, you'd expect all-out action madness. And that's what you're clearly going to get with their new film, Copshop. Check out the first teaser...

The movie, written by Carnahan and Kurt McLeod, has the following official synopsis: Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station.

But jail can’t protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.

It all looks like a gonzo riff on Assault On Precinct 13, with Carnahan unleashing all his usual gung-ho style and letting his cast truly play. Heck, Huss' character could find common ground with this guy...

Copshop will hit UK cinemas on 10 September.
