There's not long to wait now until Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon Snow and the rest are back on our screens for a fourth series of the slightly popular fantasy adventure. Book author and show producer George R. R. Martin, of course, has his mind a little further ahead than that, and at the New York premiere for the latest episode, he spoke about the future of the story{
"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin told The Hollywood Reporter. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for ten? The books get bigger and bigger in scope. It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know." Plus there's always the chance that other stories from the sprawling world of Westeros could hit the big screen, including Martin's prequel series Tales Of Dunk And Egg.
And, of course, there’s the matter of material, with fans endlessly worried that the books will run out before the series catches up with the plot. Martin, however, doesn’t share their concern
