A little under a year ago, the Interwebs were abuzz about Darren Aronofsky producing a new script from **Black Swan’**s Mark Heyman called XOXO. Back then, no director was attached, but now The Adjustment Bureau’s George Nolfi has come aboard to develop and direct the film.

Heyman wrote the script on spec, a Twitter / Facebook generation take on Fatal Attraction that follows a successful young business executive who seems to have it all – good job, lovely fiancée etc – but can’t resist flirting with strangers online. It will surprise exactly no one that the virtual romance begins to creep into his real life in a dangerous way. The plan apparently is to make the online interactions jazzier and more cinematic: a tough thing to pull off, even in the age of Skype.

Lionsgate is backing this one, with Aronofsky and Sideways producer Michael London providing support. Nolfi will oversee Heyman as he re-writes the script.

It’s not the only project the director has cooking: Nolfi is also at work on Cuban Missile Crisis drama One Minute To Midnight.
