Though most of the details are still veiled under George Lucas' legendary cloak of secrecy, word is starting to leak out about a new project he's been working on. And it has nothing to do with Star Wars. In fact, according to the Heat Vision Blog, it's a CGI-animated musical about…. Fairies.
Lucasfilm apparently say it's too early to comment on the project, but here's what we do know: TMNT director Kevin Munroe is at the helm of the 'toon, which is planning to feature music from a number of different sources.
Elf/Spiderwick Chronicles writer David Berenbaum has script duties, which seems to make sense if the film really does turn out to be a fairy fantasy.
We'll have to wait for the Imperial Shuttle to arrive with more details (or for someone to ask Kevin Munroe to divulge the info when he's out pimping his latest, Dead Of Night, shortly before Lucas' security division pill kills him Dead Of Poison Pill), but at least between this and World War Two Tuskegee Airmen story Red Tales, Lucas is branching away from the galaxy far, far away at last.
