Through the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Guy Ritchie reinvigorated the gangster movie with the likes of Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch – pulling together starry ensemble casts to deliver snappy cock-er-ney dialogue and using every editing tool in the box. And now, after heading into blockbuster territory with his Sherlock Holmes adaptations, The Man From UNCLE and Aladdin, Ritchie is venturing back to gangster land for the first time in a decade with The Gentlemen.

This one has Matthew McConaughey leading the cast as Mickey Pearson – an American drug lord operating in London, whose decision to get out of the game sparks all kinds of repercussions among the criminal underworld. See him in full menacing mode in this exclusive image, as seen in Empire’s 2020 Preview Issue.

McConaughey’s not the only big name involved in this one – Ritchie has also signed up the likes of Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Eddie Marsan, and Michelle Dockery for another killer crime ensemble.
