In October last year, we learned that Sicario scribe Taylor Sheridan was in the middle of talks to write and potentially direct a new action thriller, working titled Fast, for Warner Bros., and that Chris Pratt was considering starring. That has since changed slightly, as Sheridan's deal to direct didn't take, and the studio has Gavin O'Connor now in negotiations to make the movie instead.

The status of Pratt's involvement, given that Sheridan won't be in charge, is also now in flux, according to Variety. But perhaps he'll be encouraged to jump aboard by the presence of O'Connor, who has made films such as The Accountant and Warrior.

Fast (or whatever it ends up being called) promises to tell the high-octane tale of a former special forces commando who’s recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA. David Heyman, more usually found overseeing the likes of the Wizarding World films, or the Paddington adventures, is producing.

It's not yet known when O'Connor would be free to start work on the film, as he's still busy finishing post-production on his reunion with Accountant's Ben Affleck, sports drama Torrance.
