Batman may save people, but there are victims of his obsessive pursuit of justice. And one of them is, apparently, scheduling. While Ben Affleck was attached for a while to a new adaptation of Harlan Coben’s crime novel T****ell No One, he’s long since left it behind to take up the cowl of the Bat for Warners’ Superman-Batman film (and other directorial projects). Who can rescue the murder mystery? Step forward Gavin O’Connor.

Of course, Coben’s novel is not wanting for a cinematic interpretation – Guillaume Canet turned it into a film with great success back in 2007. This time around, Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio is behind the adaptation, which finds a doctor who was originally suspected of murdering his wife eight years prior again becoming a prime suspect when two bodies are found near the spot where his wife’s body was found. Things become even more interesting when he receives an email that includes a photo of his wife who appears to be alive and older. He’s soon launched on a dizzying investigation that reveals more secrets and lies.

O’Connor most recently stepped in to call the shots at the last minute on Western drama **Jane Got A Gun, which had briefly devolved into chaos (and legal wrangling) following the departure of original director Lynne Ramsay. From the looks of it, he may be about to save another project, even though this one was merely floating in limbo.
