Oldman signs for Batman Begins

He may be one of America's most famous crime-fighters but Batman's latest screen outing is looking like a decidedly British affair. Not only is the man himself played by Christian Bale, he has Michael Caine as his butler, Liam Neeson as his mentor and Gary Oldman has now signed on the dotted line. Oldman will take the key role of the (usually) corpulent chief of police Commissioner Gordon, though in this, his early years, Lieutenant Gordon has a few less stripes on his uniform and a few less happy meals under his belt. The film has just begun production in Iceland and with Oldman joining an already very impressive line-up, we have high hopes that Christopher Nolan may just turn out the best Bat yet.
