Yes, that’s right: Will Ferrell’s new Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi Padre (House of My Father) is organising a reunion for** Y tu mama Tambien** stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, who have signed on to the film.
Okay, so the friends have worked together since then – most notably on Rudo y Cursi – but now they also get to work with Ferrell, who is going all out with a film set in full melodramatic telenovela style which will feature English subtitles.
While nothing is yet known about the plot, we do know that Garcia Bernal will play a friend of Ferrell’s family and Luna will be his brother.
And the cast is expanding further, with Pedro Armendariaz Jr, Nacho Libre’s Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez and the superbly named Genesis Rodriguez, who has agreed to be Ferrell’s love interest for the movie.
Funny or Die TV show director Matt Piedmont is getting his first crack at the big screen with the pic, which is about to start shooting.
