Roland Emmerich has added yet another cast member to the ensemble for presidential action thriller White House Down. Garcelle Beauvais has signed on to appear alongside Jamie Foxx.
Since Foxx is playing the US President in the movie, Beauvais will be his wife, the First Lady. And they won’t have to rehearse much to work up some chemistry: the pair spent five years on The Jamie Foxx show playing a couple who dated and eventually got engaged.
But we doubt there’ll be much time for romance in the new movie as the plot finds a paramilitary group taking over the President’s pad, with the likes of Channing Tatum, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke and Lance Reddick called to help save the place and its occupants.
Emmerich, working from a script by James Vanderbilt, is set to start shooting shortly in Montreal. The date means it’ll now arrive in November next year, likely after Gerard Butler-headed White House project Olympus Has Fallen is already out.
