In the real world, winter has been and gone – which, for Game Of Thrones fans, is a sign that we’ve nearly reached the final season of HBO’s stunning fantasy epic. And just when everyone assumed that Season 8 would arrive with nary a shred of new footage hitting the internet, a two-minute trailer has arrived for the show’s epic endgame. It’s packed with ice, fire, Starks, Lannisters, and all the good stuff sure to give wall-watchers everywhere plenty to ruminate on in the coming weeks.
There’s some spine-tingling imagery here – Euron Greyjoy’s armies massing, Arya Stark preparing to take another name off her list, and Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons swooping through the skies over Winterfell to name but a few. And to round it all off, we see the likes of Gendry and Brienne Of Tarth lining up to face off against the army of the dead. Anyone else getting chills? Who will survive the Night King’s advances? And will anyone be around to sit on the Iron Throne at the end of it all? We’ll find out how it all pans out when the final season begins on 14 April.
