Sunday night might have been all about movies, but HBO wasn't about to be totally upstaged. It took the opportunity (plus the airing of the Season 3 finale for True Detective, which features now two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali) to unveil a trailer for coming attractions, including Game Of Thrones, Deadwood, Watchmen and Euphoria.
Thrones was naturally the one generating the most excitement, though the footage was of course minimal (the producers were probably hoping to just show nothing until the series returns on 14 April), but we did at least get some dragon action and a moment in the spotlight for Maisie Williams' Arya.
Deadwood spread the love around, and mostly showed the cast (though we know that, alongside the performances, it's David Milch's scripts that make the show work), while Watchmen was full of the yellow mask iconography we've come to expect from Damon Lindelof's take on the tale, while Jeremy Irons' character was the focus.
Elsewhere, it was a first chance to see footage from The Righteous Gemstones, from Danny McBride, in which he appears with Adam Devine and John Goodman, plus Years And Years, the new Russell T. Davies show starring Emma Thompson.
