HBO and its WarnerMedia bosses just can't stop planning new visits to Westeros. Not content with a prequel now shooting and a spin-off in development, there is now a Game Of Thrones animated show in very early development at HBO Max.
The Hollywood Reporter cautions that this is far from official, and executives are meeting with writers to discuss concepts and hear pitches. No deals are in place and there remains a chance that the show won't go forward – just ask the other Thrones prequel, which reached pilot stage and was scrapped after that.
All that is known so far is that it won't be some child-focused 'toon, sticking more to the adult style of the original series. And we'd be shocked – shocked, we tell you! – if this is the last attempt to keep the show alive in some form.
