While she’s been spending a lot of time wrangling zombies (and occasionally saving wayward journalists from tumbles into deadly quarry pits) for The Walking Dead, Gale Anne Hurd and her Valhalla Motion Pictures company are still looking for film projects to work on, scooping up Chris Bullett’s spec script **The Nameless **to develop.

The story is set in a hush-hush facility run by the US Marshal’s Federal Witness Protection Program, where those testifying in dangerous cases can wait safely to get new identities. At least, they think they’re safe… But when the secret location leaks out, a team of assassins hunting the key witness in a trial heads out to kill the man, and it’s up to a headstrong marshal and the town’s locals to stop them.

“I love that it’s character driven,” Hurd tells the Heat Vision blog. “That is very important to me. And secondly, I’m attracted to material about ordinary people who are facing extraordinary circumstances who find the strength within them to fight against impossible odds.”

There’s a definite modern-day Western feel to the idea, with hopefully a healthy dose of action. Hurd and her team are currently looking for some financing to get the movie made.
