With the cameras starting to roll and the scares kicking off, new family friendly horror pic Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark has announced its cast. Michael Garza, Austin Abrams, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur and Natalie Ganzhorn are all appearing in the film.
Adapting the creepy series of books by Alvin Schwartz, the script comes via Guillermo del Toro, writing alongside Kevin Hageman, Dan Hageman, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. André Øvredal is directing the film, which follows a group of teens who must solve the mystery surrounding a wave of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small town.
"We spent months searching for and assembling the perfect group of actors to help us realize the most terrifying adaptation that we could conceive," André Øvredal says in a statement, with del Toro adding, "I am honored to support Andre’s vision and, with our partners, to bring the incredible world of Scary Stories to the screen."
The new cast join lead Zoe Colletti in the film, which will arrive next year, but has yet to scare up a confirmed date.
