The casting news for John Wick spin-off Ballerina—– which Ana de Armas is busy shooting right now – just keeps coming. Gabriel Byrne is the latest to join the movie.
With Len Wiseman in the director's chair and a script from Shay Hatten, Ballerina will see de Armas as a young woman whose family is slain and who plots revenge.
Ballerina's ensemble has been built from a mixture of those who have appeared in the main Wick films and some new faces.
On the veterans front, Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick are all officially aboard the film, with Keanu Reeves reportedly showing up for a cameo as Wick himself. Add Byrne to the list of newcomers that already includes Norman Reedus and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
"For decades, Gabriel’s mysterious and enigmatic presence has enriched dozens of films," says producer Basil Iwanyk. "You can never quite be sure what he’s thinking, and that’s perfect for this world."
The spin-off has yet to lock in a release date, but John Wick Chapter 4 will be ruining bad guys' days from 24 March.
