The terminator may not be the only one looking for John Connor over the coming weeks as casting calls go out to replace Edward Furlong, who has reportedly been removed from the production. According to syndicated columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith, Furlong's turbulent relationship with the law has caught up with the 24-year-old actor. After a string of recent problems - including drug offences and a charge for driving under the influence - Furlong's role in Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines looks like it will now be re-cast. The role of John Connor, saviour of the human race, is to be a central one in the third film, the top secret plot of which sees Schwarzenegger face off against a female cyborg/CG creation/Vin Diesel - depending on who you ask. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in April 2002.
