As was the case through Season 1, the new season of The Crown finds the monarchy – and in particular Claire Foy's Queen Elizabeth II – facing upheaval, personal drama and yet more problems. Check out the new trailer for the latest run of episodes.
With Britain and its society changing beyond recognition, the monarchy struggles to adapt. The Army is fighting an illegal war in Egypt and there's the small matter of the downfall of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan (Anton Lesser) after a huge scandal.
And then there are the internal issues – Elizabeth has to deal with her "wild spirit" of a husband (Matt Smith's Prince Philip, chafing against his place in the hierarchy) and her wilder sister Margaret (Vanessa Kirby), enmeshed in the relationship with Antony Armstrong-Jones (Matthew Goode) that will lead to their marriage.
10 new episodes are arriving on Netflix on 8 December, and plans are already underway for later seasons, with Olivia Colman taking over the main role as Her Majesty ages.
