Many moons ago (okay, last Wednesday), the news broke that anyone who wanted to watch the teaser trailer for Downton Abbey: A New Era would have to hie themselves to the cinemaplex, where it was playing in front of Belfast this past weekend. That's no longer true, as the footage is online.
Thanks to the trailer, we also know a little bit more about the plot - chiefly that Dame Maggie Smith's Violet Crawley revealing that she had a romantic dalliance back in the past and has inherited a French Villa. Family trip! Oh, and there's also a pending royal visit to handle.
Regular faces Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Lesley Nicol, Imelda Staunton and Penelope Wilton are present and correct, joined by the likes of Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West.
With Julian Fellowes scripting, Goodbye Christopher Robin's Simon Curtis is in the director's chair for this one, due to arrive on 18 March.
