2019 is going to be a gigantic year for Disney – and if Toy Story 4, the ‘live-action’ remakes of Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King, and those gigantic Star Wars and Marvel movies wasn’t enough, we’ve also got Frozen 2 on the way. While the sequel to the 2013 smash has been kept tightly under wraps, a fully-formed trailer has cast a spell on the internet. Watch it here:
While the Frozen 2 trailer reveals next-to-nothing about the sequel plot, it does tease a darker, more mature, and action-oriented direction for the sequel. First up we see the ice-powered Elsa attempting to use her abilities to walk on water, dashing across frozen waves accompanied by an epic score. Elsewhere, we see what seems like some gusty wind powers (no tittering at the back, please), and Anna proving to be handy with Kristoff’s blade. If this is anything to go by Frozen 2 looks set to be a grander, more mythical adventure story. Take a look at the first poster here:
The film sees the return of directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, as well as cast members Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff. Plus, Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown have signed up for as-yet-unnamed roles. Plus, expect a whole host of new songs. Frozen 2 will ice the box office competition when it hits UK cinemas on 22 November.
