Like central figure (at least from the second movie onwards) Jason Voorhees, the Friday The 13th film series just won't quite ever go away. And with the success of the latest Halloween, a new group of producers including sports star-turned-movie mogul LeBron James are looking to put the latest reboot back on track.
A new version of Friday The 13th had been in the works for a while, but was shut down by Paramount last year just before it was due to kick off shooting with Breck Eisner calling the shots.
Now Bloody Disgusting reports that avowed horror fan (and occasional cosplayer) James and his Springhill Entertainment company are in talks with Vertigo Entertainment and current rights holder/original screenwriter Victor Miller to work on a new version.
It's early days on this one, so we'll have to wait and see whether Jason (or his mum) truly comes back to screens, but given that James has somehow helped to pull the Space Jam sequel out of development hell, anything is possible.
