Building on his lead duties in The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, Martin Freeman has landed the lead in a romantic comedy written and directed by Gwyneth Paltrow’s brother Jake.
Budgeted at $15 million, The Good Night follows a former pop star (Freeman) forced to slum it in the world of advertising jingles, constantly searching for perfection in a world where life rarely lives up to the idealised images served up by the media.
Jake’s sister Gwyneth and Simon Pegg will take supporting roles while Freeman’s love interest, who will take on different forms in his fantasies, has yet to be cast. The movie is set in New York, but will shoot at Ealing studios from early November.
