Frankie Go Boom Poster Online

If it seems like a long time since we heard anything about Frankie Go Boom, the odd little comedy starring Sons Of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman alongside Chris O’Dowd, that’s because it was shot back in late 2010, finished last year and has been waiting for a release date since then. Now we know that A) it will premiere at this year’s SXSW festival and B) the poster is out and can be seen below.

Early last year, back before the whirlwind of press for Gulliver’s Travels and, more importantly, Bridesmaids, Empire chatted with O’Dowd about the film, and he talked up the premise. “It's about two brothers, one is an ex-addict who has just come out of rehab and has a falling out with his brother because he wants to be a filmmaker, but his way of trying to achieve that is by filming his other brother's most intimate moments and putting them on the Internet.

"And that's what I do – I play that brother and I keep filming my younger brother (Hunnam). He meets this girl and suffers from impotency on the first night with her and I try and release it as a real thing. So we spend the rest of the movie trying to get the movie back. It's a very offbeat, low-budget kind of a thing, but I think it's funny and it's something I hadn't really done.”

Now we also know that there is a hacker named Phil, played by Perlman, who turns out to have become Phyllis. The boys go to Phyllis for help in removing the offending video off the ‘net, but discover she won’t assist for free.

Check out the poster below, which features one of our favourite taglines of the year so far.

Jordan Roberts wrote and directed the film, which also features Lizzy Caplan, Whitney Cummings, Chris Noth, Adam Pally, Nora Dunn and David Marciano. It doesn’t seem to have a UK distributor just yet, but we’re hoping that changes once festival crowds see the thing. Even if the poster will now haunt our dreams.
