Vigilante action films seem to be becoming the flavour of the moment, what with Death Sentence already in production and now Fox Searchlight buying a revenge script called Stephon’s Corner.
Written by Pat Gilfillan, the story follows two single mothers who become friends when their children are killed in random street violence. But when the law fails to capture their kids’ killers, they head off on a killing spree through Chicago’s seediest districts.
George Tillman, who last directed Cuba Gooding Jr navy diving drama Men Of Honour, is waving the megaphone. "I was excited when I first read Pat's script because here's a chance to make a movie that's socially relevant, original and entertaining all at once," he told Variety.
