Given that it's been 23 years since the original, we were wondering whether someone would try to reboot Four Weddings And A Funeral. That isn't happening director, but writer/producer/actor Mindy Kaling is overseeing development of an anthology TV series based on the movie.
US streaming service Hulu, which produces Kaling's The Mindy Project series, is providing the financing for the new potential project, originally put together by producer Jonathan Prince. He approached rights holders MGM Television, and they've all teamed up with original writer Richard Curtis and the Working Title team to lend their names to the show.
Kaling and fellow executive producer Matt Warburton will work on two scripts for the show while Hulu considers whether to commission it. The idea is to follow a group of friends through the titular events, with each season of the show telling a different story. When she's not busy producing (and appearing on) TV series, Kaling will be seen in A Wrinkle In Time, out on 23 March.
