Cast your mind back a week or so to September, and news that Winston Duke would reportedly be joining the cast of Marvel's Black Panther. He's now officially been confirmed by the studio, but he isn't the only new addition, as Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Kasumba are all aboard.
Black Panther will, of course, chart more of T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) story as he grapples with both his royal and warrior destiny and fights enemies old and new, including Duke's M'Baku, the leader of a rival tribe.
Whitaker, who is also in a little film arriving this year called Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is on as Zuri, an elder statesman in T'Challa's home nation of Wakanda. Kaluuya, a veteran of Black Mirror and Sicario, is set to play W'Kabi, a confidant for our hero. And finally, reprising her role from Captain America: Civil War, Kasumba will be Ayo, one of the best fighters in the Dora Milaje, the warrior force that aids the Panther and protects the king when he's not doing the superhero thing.
They all join a cast that already includes Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira, and this ensemble is shaping up to be one of the best ever recruited for a superhero movie. Ryan Coogler is behind the camera and the movie will hit the UK on 9 February, 2018, ahead of its 16 February release in the States.
