Just when you thought cartoon characters had been exhausted another bunch pop up to prove you wrong. This time it's 'consumer packaged goods company's characters' (that just trips off the tongue, doesn't it?) which, in English, means those annoyingly chipper cartoons that sing slogans on the telly.
Charlie Sheen, Eva Longoria, Wayne Brady, Chris Kattan and Christopher Lloyd have signed up to voice Foodfight! a $50m 3D cartoon comedy from True Lies producer Larry Kasanoff's Threshold Animation Studios and new-born studio Lions Gate Family Entertainment, set in a supermarket.
Famous American icons like Mr Clean, Charlie the Tuna and Twinkie the Kid will come to life alongside new characters created for the film à la Toy Story. Sheen will voice the lead role of Dex Dogtective alongside Longoria as Lady X, Brade as Daredevil Dan, Lloyd's Mr Clipboard and Kattan's Polar Penguin. They join teen double threats Hilary and Haylie Duff who are playing Sunshine Goodness and Sweet Cakes respectively.
