With his current comedy – Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson Google job grab The Internship – now squared away bar the promotional press tour, Shawn Levy is busy casting his next gig, dysfunctional family tale This Is Where I Leave You. He's been taking plenty of meetings, and Levy has just nabbed Jane Fonda and Corey Stoll.
They’re joining a cast that already includes Tina Feyand Jason Bateman, with Katherine Hahn looking likely and Ari Graynor a rumoured addition.
Adapted by Jonathan Tropper from his book, the film finds Bateman as a man whose father dies. His dad's last request is that his four grown children – who have issues with one other – spend seven days together under one roof for the first time in a decade. Fey is one of Bateman’s sisters, Fonda has taken the role of his mother, and Stoll will be his brother.
Fonda has most recently been working on Aaron Sorkin’s latest TV series, The Newsroom, which returns this year. She’ll next crop up as Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels’ The Butle****r. Stoll has also been stalking the halls of US government power, receiving wide acclaim for his performance as troubled congressman Peter Russo in the Netflix adaptation of House Of Cards, and he’ll be seen in Non-Stop alongside Liam Neeson.
