The four time Oscar winner and creator of some of the best-known and loved cartoon classics, Chuck Jones, died on Friday at the ripe old age of 89. Jones leaves behind an amazing legacy of animation; Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck were two characters that he helped bring to life, while characters he was directly reponsible for creating include Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian and Pepe le Pew. Director Peter Bogndanovich explained the attraction of Jones's animation thus; 'It remains, like all good fables and only the best art, both timeless and universal.' He will be sorely missed.
