Several presenting partnerships at this year's Oscars – Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, say, or Elizabeth Banks and a bear — served double duty as promotion for upcoming films. Yet no one suspected that the pairing of Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield for the Screenwriting categories could serve as an ad for new film We Live In Time, which has them both in talks to star.

Of course, given that their deals aren't yet done we doubt that this was planned, but it certainly set the internet alight. Now, according to Deadline, they're in talks to star in the film, which comes from Brooklyn director John Crowley (who worked with Garfield on Boy A) and writer Nick Payne.

Little is known about the story at this point, beyond it being described as "a funny, deeply moving and immersive love story."

With Benedict Cumberbatch as an executive producer via his Sunny March company, the film (assuming the stars jump aboard) should be shooting later this year.
