We've been waiting forever but it looks like Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life is really actually finally honestly seriously not-even-kidding coming out. A trailer will be previewing with Black Swan in the US this weekend, and the LA Times got their hands on the first two stills from the film.
The paper also got to watch the trailer, which they describe as promising "a mystical, rich and satisfying film". The film focuses on Jack O'Brien, played as an adult by Sean Penn, and his parents, played by Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain. The trailer shows both his childhood and parents' influence, and his adult life. Sadly, however, there are none of the promised dinosaurs in this footage at least.

The Tree of Life is due out sometime next spring in the US, and hopefully not too long after over here. So what do you think of these pictures? And what do you think it all means?
