The subject of soldiers returning home from war and trying to reintegrate into civilian life is a huge issue and one that films must investigate with sensitivity and smarts. Now making the attempt is Thank You For Your Service, which stars Miles Teller and Haley Bennett, and has a first trailer online.
Adapting David Finkel's bestselling book, American Sniper writer Jason Hall is also making his directorial debut with the drama, which follows various troops looking to make the transition from the chaos and bonds of war to the relative calm and connections of family life.
Teller is Adam Schumann, freshly returned to wife Saskia (Bennett) and their daughters, who faces his own struggles that threaten his relationship and peace of mind.
Keisha Castle-Hughes, Amy Schumer, Joe Cole, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, Brad Beyer and Omar J. Dorsey also star in the film, Thank You For Your Service will be out in the US on 27 October, and should be arriving in UK cinemas later this year.
