Four Weddings TV Series

If you're going to go ahead and update a film like 1994's Four Weddings And A Funeral, you might as well put your own stamp on it. And from the looks of Mindy Kaling's take on the idea, that's exactly what she's done.

Swapping out the likes of Hugh Grant's Charles and Kristin Scott Thomas' Fiona for new characters (though Andie Macdowell is in the cast here, her character unknown), the series will follow the story of four American friends – Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel), Craig (Brandon Mychal Smith), Ainsley (Rebecca Rittenhouse), and Duffy (John Reynolds) – who reunite for a fabulous London wedding.

But after a bombshell at the altar throws their lives into turmoil, they must weather a tumultuous year of romance and heartbreak. Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course, there are four weddings... and a funeral.

It sounds like this new Four Weddings will cover similar love and life struggles, though with a fresh twist in terms of the stories. This one will air on Hulu in the US starting 31 July, but no UK broadcaster has nabbed it yet
