Long in the works despite the presence of Mel Brooks and The Lion King director Rob Minkoff on the creative team, Paws Of Fury: The Legend Of Hank is finally headed to screens this year. And here

Loosely inspired by Brooks' classic Blazing Saddles (and once called Blazing Samurai), the film's story follows Hank (Michael Cera), a scrappy dreamer of a dog, who aspires to one day be a bonafide Samurai. But in a world of cats, he’s not sure it’ll ever happen – that is until the nefarious warlord, Ika Chu (Ricky Gervais), hustles the unwitting Hank into becoming the samurai for the town of Kakamucho; the same town Ika Chu intends to pillage.

Michelle Yeoh, Samuel L. Jackson and George Takei are also in the cast for the film, which will arrive this summer via Sky Cinema. Stateside audiences will see it in cinemas on 15 July.
