Last year, A Dog's Purpose leapt straight for audiences' emotions like a tear duct-devouring Cujo with the story of a pooch's consciousness jumping between canines through the years. 2019 will bring A Dog's Way Home, which looks to be more in the Homeward Bound mould.

Adapted once again from a novel by W. Bruce Cameron's novel by the writer himself and Cathryn Michon, it's the story of Bella (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), who we first meet as an adorable puppy owned by Jonah Hauer-King's Lucas. When they're separated, Bella starts an epic 400-mile journey home, touching the lives of many during her unwavering quest; from an orphaned mountain lion cub to a homeless veteran down on his luck.
