First Thor Footage Glimpsed

"Gosh, he's strong," gushes Kenneth Branagh of Chris Hemsworth's **Thor. There's plenty more of the same over the four minute duration of Entertainment Tonight's news segment, but it does give us some tantalising new glimpses of a bulked-up Hemsworth as the Mighty One himself, and our first look at Anthony Hopkins in his Odin get-up.

ET's footage from the "top secret" Thor set in New Mexico, confirms the designs for Thor's costume that were "leaked" last week. We also get a look at Thor in his civvies (Donald Blake or Sigurd Jarlson?). Hopkins' Wotan the One-Eyed sports a fetching metal eyepatch, and that figure in the impressively-horned armour is Heimdall (although whether Idris Elba is actually inside the suit in that shot is anyone's guess).

The interview footage reveals Branagh in good-humour, and a goofily awkward for-the-camera rapport between Hemsworth and Portman, who's amused to learn that Hemsworth was on Dancing With the Stars (Australia's version of Strictly). We learn that the shoot has been "fun" and "exciting" so far, and that Hemsworth didn't mind taking his shirt off.

No sign yet of Tom Hiddlestone's Loki, Jamie Alexander's Sif, or any of the Warriors Three (Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Joshua Dallas)* but it can only be a matter of time. Expect many more updates before the release date of May 5th, 2011.

*No Mjolnir either, but you saw that in Iron Man 2, right?
