Muppets Most Wanted is out on March 28 in the UK. This is important for any Monsters University fans out there, because the Oozma Kappa boys are back in a special short, and it'll play before The Muppets start capering around Europe. Speaking to EW, writer-director Kelsey Mann said: ”When you first meet the Oozma Kappas, they go to their fraternity house and the first thing they say is, ‘Welcome to party central! We haven’t thrown a party yet, but when we do we’ll be ready,’ I kept telling Dan [Scanlon, the director of Monsters University], ‘I really want to see their party. We have to do it in the credits or something.’ Then when the idea of doing a short came up, we were like, ‘That could be the party!’"
A few facts about the short: it took eight months to make, it was started towards the end of the original film's production so that the pick-ups could include recording new lines for it, it was meant to be on the Monsters University DVD, and it was first screened to the public at last year's D23 expo.
As mentioned earlier, Muppets Most Wanted is out on March 28 in the UK. The US will get to see it a week earlier, on March 21.
