Despite the promise of President Obama and Americans looking forward to a less cynical brand of politics, things seem to be degenerating back to the same old arguing and nonsense across the pond (where’s Jed Bartlet when you need him, eh?) So between that and the political fallout of our own hacking scandal, it seems like the perfect climate for George Clooney’s spin-doctor drama The Ides of March to release some new pics online, which you can stare at in the gallery below.

Focusing on the dodgy, backbiting politics of a presidential primary campaign, March follows idealistic aide Ryan Gosling as he finds himself increasingly led astray by a morals-free candidate (co-writer/director Clooney himself).

Thanks to Clooney’s growing clout behind the camera, the film boasts a stellar cast including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Jennifer Ehle, Marisa Tomei, and Evan Rachel Wood.

So does the movie itself have an agenda? “Of course it’s political; it takes place during a primary," Clooney tells USA Today. “But it’s more about process than platform.” With a premiere set for this September’s Toronto Film Festival, the movie will arrive over here on October 28.You can see more pics from the movie over at USA Today.
