It seems like just last week that we brought you our exclusive chat with Eli Roth about his return to the director’s chair, The Green Inferno. That’s probably because it was. Now, the director has released the first still from the movie, which you can see above.
From the looks of this, things will definitely get messy, but then you rather expect that in Roth world.
The film itself finds group of student activists from New York City travel to the Amazon to protect a dying tribe, only to crash in the jungle and be taken hostage by the very natives they were planning to save. From there, things take a very nasty turn.
The likes of Kirby Bliss Blanton (that's her above), Aaron Burns, Ariel Levy, Lorenza Izzo and Sky Ferreira were put through the ringer on this one, shooting in distant Amazon locations and braving the local wildlife to get the film made.
Roth’s deep in the editing process at the moment, and there’s no set release date just yet, but we're hopeful we'll see Green Inferno this year.
