Whether or not **Arthur **is high on your remake wishlist, Warner Bros.' revival of the 1981 comedy has got pedigree, with Hollywood's Brit comedian of the moment, Russell Brand, donning the tux and dishevelled air to play the dissolute millionaire once made famous by Dudley Moore.

The New York Times has a first snap of Brand as **Arthur **looking a little, well, odd, on the streets of Manhattan without that trademark facial hair. As any fo' kno, the debauched rich kid must marry the heiress of his mother's choosing or risk losing his inheritance altogether. Unfortunately, the demon booze and Greta Gerwig's dream girl conspire to complicate things.

Brand and Gerwig will be handsomely supported by Nick Nolte, Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren, who takes on the role played by John Gielgud in the '81 version. Modern Family alumnus Jason Winer is behind the camera, while Peter Baynham, the **Borat **screenwriter who once loaded The Day Today's word gun, is on scriptwriting duties.
