One of the films we’re eagerly anticipating this year is Snowpiercer, the dystopian future train thriller that** The Host**/Mother director Bong Joon-Ho is currently working up. While the teaser trailer has yet to arrive, some of the first artwork from the film is now online at a Korean site (spotted by The Film Stage) and can be seen in the gallery below.

Snowpiercer is set in 2031, at a time after the world has suffered a massive ecological disaster from a failed experiment to stop global warming, and has been plunged into a new ice age. The only survivors are crammed on to a massive train that ploughs through the howling storms.

Inside are a variety of people in different classes of compartment – from the cramped back end to the relatively luxurious front. All is not well on the train, and soon class warfare is breaking out.

Adapted by the director and Kelly Masterson from Benjamin Legrand and Jacuqes Lob’s graphic novel, Snowpiercer marks Bong Joon-Ho’s English language debut and features a corking cast that includes Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Alison Pill, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer and Ewen Bremner.

And if you’re in the mood for some music as you look at the artwork, the Korean site also included a snippet of Marco Beltrami’s score for the film, so take a listen below. Snowpiercer doesn’t have a UK release set yet but should be out this year.
