First look at Ricky Gervais’ David Brent in Life On The Road

The press release back in May made it officially official, but now comes the actual first look at Ricky Gervais’ David Brent on set (well, in a recording booth) for Life On The Road.

Yes, the long-promised (threatened?) return of Brent comes as the film, which Gervais has written and is directing, kicks off shooting. Our egotistical, somewhat delusional main man is back as the focus of a documentary as he combines a career as a travelling salesman with the continued chasing of his dream to be a rock star via a self-financed UK tour with band Foregone Conclusion.

Joining Gervais on screen are Ben Bailey Smith as Dom (last seen here{ =nofollow}), Tom Basden as Dan, Brent’s road manager, Jo Hartley as office (not capital O) colleague Pauline, Andrew Brooke as business nemesis Jezza, Nina Sosanya as his therapist and Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows as the skins man for Foregone Conclusion alongside Kevin Bishop, Roisin Conaty, Diane Morgan, Ashley McGuire, Alexander Arnold and Mandeep Dhillon.

Expect the film to show up demanding attention at your local cinema in August next year.
