When Empire met Bryan Cranston a few years ago on the Total Recall set, he was pleased to explain the importance of the right hair for a character. On the occasion of the sci-fi remake he was rocking a sort of luxuriant, floppy grey-blonde affair, whereas in his most famous role in Breaking Bad he has no hair at all. "A shaved head and facial hair is the most aggressive look you can have," he expained, fixing us with a beady stare. So have a look at his latest piece of head furniture in Brad Fuller's '80s-set thriller The Infiltrator and tell us what you think he's going for here...
Adapted by Ellen Brown Furman from customs and excise agent Robert Mazur’s autobiography, the film finds Cranston as Mazur, who must investigate dodgy dealings by going undercover as a man named Bob Musella. There’s still no official word on who Kruger's playing, but we'd hazard a guess at Bonni Tischler, another US agent who hindered Mazur as much as she helped him.
While Furman had hoped to be rolling the cameras in January, he’s had to wait a little longer to get cracking on this one, with shooting just underway in London. The production moves to Florida next month.
John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt, Elena Anaya, Olympia Dukakis, Juliet Aubrey and Amy Ryan co-star, and The Infiltrator is expected to see release sometime in 2016.
